Installation

Requirements

• Minecraft Server: Paper, Purpur, or Folia 1.20.4+
• Java: 21 or newer

Optional Dependencies

• PlaceholderAPI — Enables placeholders in chat format, hover text, join/leave messages, and more.
• LuckPerms or Vault — Enables group-based chat formats and prefix resolution.

Installation Steps

1. Download the latest rexchat-x.x.x.jar from SpigotMC or GitHub Releases.
2. Place the .jar file in your server’s plugins/ folder.
3. Restart your server (or run /reload confirm — restart is recommended).
4. Edit plugins/RexChat/config.yml to customize the plugin.
5. Run /rexchat reload or /rc reload to apply changes.

First Steps

After installation, RexChat will:

• Format all chat messages using the default format
• Enable @mentions with sound and title notifications
• Enable emoji replacement
• Enable chat previews ([item], [inventory] tokens)
• Register /clearchat, /mutechat, /chatcolor, and dynamic commands from config
